Johannes Tiefenthaler

Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Neustark

Johannes Tiefenthaler is co-CEO and co-founder of neustark. He studied mechanical and process engineering at ETH Zurich. As part of his doctorate, Johannes developed a process by which carbon dioxide is removed from the atmosphere and permanently stored in concrete, creating a carbon sink effect.

In commercializing this technology, neustark has triggered a veritable carbon storage boom among concrete producers and builders in Switzerland and Europe. Johannes’ focus at neustark is R&D, plant engineering and construction, and the operation of the carbon removal value chain.

He strongly believes that climate benefits are a product, the sale of which will result in economically viable solutions that lead to large-scale climate protection.
