Founder and Partner of BayLink Capital

Kaustuv is a founder and Partner of BayLink Capital, responsible for all day-to-day activities of the firm and a key decision-maker on all investment decisions. Prior to founding BayLink Capital, Kaustuv was a Partner at Blue Sea Capital, a growth-oriented lower middle market private equity firm. At Blue Sea Capital, Kaustuv focused on the firm’s healthcare investing activities and was on the Board of Directors of Spectrum Vision Partners and Deca Dental. Before that, Kaustuv spent over a decade at Bain Capital, where he was a Principal in the firm’s global private equity business, and a member of the firm’s North American Healthcare and Financial & Business Services verticals. For a two year-period from 2008-2011, he was also a member of the initial team at Bain Capital’s Mumbai office.

During his tenure at Bain Capital, Kaustuv was involved in executing numerous investments, including several investments as a deal quarterback, with a focus on healthcare and financial services deals. Kaustuv also had significant roles leading operational and strategic initiatives at the companies he completed investments in, as well as at several additional portfolio companies. Kaustuv holds an AB in Economics from Harvard University as well as an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Kaustuv lives in San Francisco, and has been lucky to spend a lot of time in Sonoma during the pandemic. Outside of work, Kaustuv is passionate about the arts, living in new cities and countries, playing squash and hosting dinner parties. Since 2004, he has been involved in various capacities with the Acumen Fund, a social venture philanthropy firm that operates globally and brings the power of patient capital, investing and entrepreneurship to change the way the world tackles poverty.
